Lewis Hamilton has won his home race, the British Grand Prix at Silverstone for the 6th time in his career. Valtteri Bottas ended up a disappointed second, followed by Charles Leclerc in third.

Probably had a good tow, strangely most teams struggled to improve their times. Typically track evolves rapidly from Q1 to Q3. When there were few cars lapping, track temps dropped and cars didnt improve but cars lapping after few cars seem to have benefitted from cars in feont rubbering the track.
My theory is that their tyre preparation was not ideal for the 2nd runs. I totally disagree with Martin Brundle that Hamilton overheated his tyres in the first run because Hamilton was actually quicker than Bottas in the 3rd sector in that 1st run. I think that the Mercedes is softer on the tyres than the Ferraris which means they need to push harder on the preparation as they did in the 1st runs but their preparation for the 2nd runs was compromised with traffic.
Almost lost pole to Ferrari and RB and I even heard that turbo lag cost Verstappen the pole.

Surprising at the small gap Mercedes had with the rest of the cars. Good news. Others are catching up in 1 lap speed. Tires will probably be a different matter though. I am expecting Hamilton still to win tomorrow.
