Hamilton takes record beating 5th win at Silverstone

Lewis Hamilton has won his home race, the British Grand Prix at Silverstone for the 5th time in his career. Valtteri Bottas ended up a disappointed second, followed by Charles Leclerc in third.

I told them about that straight away. Luckily the front page story is at least correct.

The tyres were excellent today. Lots of hard racing at full speed and the tyres took it all. Someone complained that the tyres were too hard on the choice. Softer tyres would have been wrong.

Pirelli only mentioned when the tyres aren't right, but the media should be praising them for today.
I couldn't agree more. I do feel however that the new regulations along with the tires is what's making this possible. So not just all down to Pierelli. There was no way a car would follow within DRS range for laps on end the way we saw on multiple battles up and down the grid.

The WDC is shaping up nicely, only 16 points between 3rd and 5th.
2nd place in the WCC also doesn’t look like it is decided yet.

It is funny to see how the response to this situation puts the opinion of some people regarding situations involving Max in perspective (especially the one with Leclerc). It has nothing to do with judging a situation but all with a grudge against Max. Very sad.
Definitely Sebs fault today, proving you wrong about it being "because its max" in austria.

I dislike Ferrari more than most, last race Ferrari were screwed, today it was all a Ferrari mans fault.

Chalres was epic today though, on track today Max couldn't pass him, and he passed Max. Charles knows how to deal with Max now. great for the future between these two

Max was way off line and hit the brakes way too early. There was no way he could make the chicane. Of course the driver from behind will get the penalty.
To make the corner, he had to brake early, which is what he did, as you said. Your statement contradicts itself badly.

Another mistake from Vettel. How many is that now in the last couple of years?

I've lost track.

As a Ferrari fan, more Leclerc, less Vettel, please.

Stewards have themselves to blame for the incident involving Vettel and Verstappen. Had they given a penalty for Verstappen for gaining an advantage by leaving the track and getting ahead of Leclerc, the event wouldn't have arise for Vettel to crash.

Here at Silverstone, it seems that Merc are some 7-8 tenths ahead of RB and some 8-9 tenths from Ferrari but what`s frightening me is that in Hockenheim they could be at least 3-4 tenths faster or maybe more, bearing in mind their announced big upgrade there'll bring there ...
If only Hockenheim was still the real Hockenheim and not the ruined current iteration!

This year's Ferrari would be very impressive on the old track.

It could have been an EPIC British GP but no, it was another one determined by "luck" of safety car and how it completely rearranges the competitive order. Giovinazzi again showing his quality and effectively ruining a great race and ofcourse Vettel's late desperation move also was just that. Trying way too hard and late into that corner.
An anti-climactic end that I reckon many of the crowd felt robbed.

Leclerc closing on Vettel in the table. Another good race from him and he'll be asking the team for primacy.

Vettel admitted fault, get over it. Take your Max hatred to the next race.

Leclerc's driving was borderline questionable a few moments. Light a fire in Verstappen though, and Leclerc may come to regret it.
