Both records will be broken easily thanks to the unparalled rocketship the Mercedes car and operations have been for the last 6 years and probably coming years. There has never been a team both so dominant (except maybe 1988 Mclaren if we get 1 more non-Merc victory) and for so long (Ferrari was 5 years but only 2 or 3 dominant, RBR was 4 years but only 2 were dominant).
LH is a great driver but pretty much any other A-level driver with a B-level teammate would string together the titles and wins in this environment

Many thought the Mercedes was always faster than Ferrari in recent years until we see Leclerc in it.

Ferrari fastest 2015, 2017, 2018.

More GP per year now makes it easier. Not that Hamilton would not do it anyway, just easier.

17 and 18 I'm almost sure Hamilton would have won the title in the Ferrari. Vettel ran him close and its clear Vettel isn't on Hamiltons level.

That's a fair statement but when you look at the races to 91, Schumacher did it in 248 races, Hamilton is now at 239 races, so it's close even if you measure it apples to apples.

It makes it easier to get numbers of wins, not to get titles. So it's swings and roundabouts.

Yeah 2015 is a bit of stretch but i think it was possible if the car was developed to challenge.

Nicely out of context.

Schumacher had contractual number one status. His team mates were contractually required to get out of the way.

Compare Austria 2002 with Hungary 2017.

Why not compare Austria 2002 to Germany and Russia 2018? Can you compare US GP 2002 to anything between Lewis and his team mate?

Bottas was openly used as a road block in Spain and Malaysia 2017 and in Hungary and Italy 2018. How many incidents you can count of Schumacher's team mates having been used as a road block to let Michael win?

Till date, no one has seen either Michael's or Barrichello's contracts. People have made this "Contractually Obligated" thing because of the way a weaker team mate was handled by Ferrari to focus on their stronger driver. A stronger driver will emerge out of the shadow of the No. 1 driver, like Leclerc has been doing, despite Binnotto having clearly said, Vettel is their priority. People like Irvines and Barrichellos were just poor drivers who couldn't make use of the equipment they had, just like Bottas.

I never thought there was anything wrong in having a No. 1 and No. 2 drivers as there is only one title of WDC. Whether Ferrari favoring Michael all those years or Mercedes having done that with Bottas, is actually in the best interest of the team. Team doesn't get extra prize money for letting their two drivers race and it's NOT on a team to put up a show between team mates. Only some people have this fascination to use the "Contractual" thingy to pull down Michael's achievement, like you do time and again. None of that crap of No.2 OR "Wingman" thing would lower the stature of either Schumacher or Lewis.

Remember when Ferrari's "VETO" was something no one had seen either? We're comparing numbers, not how they got there. Since there's only Michael and Lewis to compare in this rarefied space, you don't get there without some of those questions. The only apples to apples comparison we can draw is that Schumacher never had a team mate win a championship.
