Is it just or does the bargeboard area look a lot simpler than it was before?
Bargeboards behind the front wheels are mostly fitted on the floor so you cannot see them on most of these pictures, just a little bit on the last one from AMuS. Sidepod area doesn't seem simpler or more complicated, just an evolution of current concept with different positioned vanes.
Bargeboard area still have three large horizontal fins, double curved blades at the bottom, a lot of vortex generators and serrated curved vanes so I don't think it became simpler.
On last few hi-res pics of the sidepod area can be seen that upper crash structure extension, which is now verticaly connected to the horizontal vane above, is curved downwards and outwards in its rear section, helping to steer the airflow in that direction. Something similiar was seen in 2018 Austrian GP big upgrade package.
Ah yeah that's a good point. Can't wait to see some more footage of the machine in action over the weekend. I am a tad underwhelmed with the paint scheme. Still very cool bit of trivia and very cool of Mercedes to do that but was expecting a bit more dramatic look lol
