Lewis Hamilton outpaced Max Verstappen to take pole position for the German Grand Prix. It ended up in a fairly straight forward affair for the Briton, as both Ferraris, who had been closest earlier in the weekend, suffered technical trouble.
New MGU-Ks for five of the six Ferrari powered cars this weekend, while the two actual Ferraris get new Energy Stores. No penalties for any of these - all within their supply limits. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EAZA_VIXkAABmDw.jpg

Vettel got his second MGU-K in Silverstone already
That is correct. Here's the full list of used components for each driver

That's one of those insane stats that you don't think about but... insane.
To be fair he has had the very best car in the wet since 2014 and only to contend Rosberg and Bottas with, who are, lets say politely, not big on wet driving. If he had a Button next to him this stat would be very different. But as discussed before, this holds true for a lot of his stats if you deduct the Merc from it (2007-2013 stats).
Thats like looking at Vettels stats after removing his RedBull years. Also yiu say Rosberg and Bottas are not big on wet weather driving, at least that means you are confirming that Lewis IS big on wet weather driving, so why keep saying its all the car when the sister car struggles.
Exactly my point, Vettel’s stats are massively inflated because of the RB years. Or does someone really think he is better than Senna and Prost?
True GOATs don’t need the help of superior material to win.
If Mercedes were a bit more clever they could have tackled their overheating issues a bit more by making the car white at the back instead of the front for this weekend.
Jesus, Merc are now almost a second clear on a short lap with errors in the last corner. Game over.
Are you trolling or is it your first time watching FP?
Shall we revisit my post again on Sunday evening? Normally you can say it is just FP. But if you look more closely and see them doing mistakes on their lap and still be 8 tenths ahead on only a 1:14 lap you know it is over.

Whatever upgrades Racing point Stroll ltd have brought seems to be working a treat. Half a second slower than Merc using same tyres. Damm could be best of the rest.
The likes of Toro Rosso and Williams appear to not get anything from their big upgrade. Dani and Robert were running with upgrades and didn't seem to make any difference.
Well, all but Hungary 2014 which he could have won from the pit lane if it weren't for a faulty cylinder at the end of the race.
Yes he is a great driver, as is (amongst many other feats) proven by his record against any opponent he went against in the same car. But merc has had a big power advantage since 2014 which they always used for driving with more downforce. That’s a big advantage to have in the rain.
No doubt he's had a car advantage but we all know how easy it is to make a mistake in the wet. How it is a leveller between cars and puts more emphasis on the driver. It would be pretty impressive if he'd finished on the podium in every wet race, the fact that he's won every single one over the last half a decade is nothing short of extraordinary. Look at other 'top drivers' records and see how many of them have even managed to finish every wet race, let alone score in top three consistently. Don't have the facts at hand but I would be willing to bet that no one is even remotely close.
This might be an unpopular one, but there's something making me think that with modern cars rain isn't making the gaps closer, exactly the opposite, they become bigger. And I'll provide some examples. We all know Lewis' stunning drive from 2008 in Silverstone, but less than a year later in China he was spinning constantly and also finished behind Kovalainen. The very same year during the Malaysian GP he was fighting with Webber for p5-p7 or something like that. Meanwhile Vettel won the Chinese grand prix (in the wet), with the track suiting the Red Bull car the most. In 2010 and 2011 he was leading in Korea and Canada when it was wet. Because of his certain circumstances, he ended up losing the race. Button won in Brazil 2012, when it was obvious that McLaren were the fastest. My points is, I don't remember a wet race in the past 10 or so years, where a driver didn't win a race with a top-tier car (maximum +0.3 from the fastest car). The closest I remember was Hulkenberg in 2012 Brazil, but he crashed with Hamilton.
On the current topic, it seems that Williams have improved (still last but much closer) and now can actually run with Alfa Romeo. Pleasantly surprised by Grosjean's time as well as Racing Point.

Williams upgrade working, that is the only reason Robert beat his team mate
