As much as this race was won by Verstappen, it was lost by Hamilton. When he lost his FW he was leading the GP by around 25-30 seconds.

Nah he was less than 10 sec ahead. A gap Max also managed to pull on 3 occassions

Still don't understand why Mercedes didn't pit Lewis when the SC was out to serve the 5 seconds and switch to slick tyres, they were never going to catch Max on inters so split the strategy and take a risk with the car in the lower position. Bit of a shocker today but luckily they have a massive buffer and a race next week to forget about this one.

What a great race. Congratulation to Verstappen and what a sly and quiet drive by Vettel. Kyvat being 3rd does kinda show what a lottery it was.

Mercedes, Hamilton and Bottas had a race to very quickly forget. A shocking home race for them. Even more so when you consider they helped fund it.

Gasly needs sacking off by RedBull. Kyvat or Albon surely have to get that seat now.

That's impressive really. If they challenge Mercedes in Hungary, I will be convinced that season is on /or he will keep them honest at least, and with races like today, you never know

For second maybe, Hamilton is clear enough plus Honda still will get some PU penalties. Hamilton had this race quite firmly until he lost his it, than stuff just cascaded: team wasn't ready, penalty... the first big FU in years doesn't change that much.

As much as this race was won by Verstappen, it was lost by Hamilton. When he lost his FW he was leading the GP by around 25-30 seconds.

Nah he was less than 10 sec ahead. A gap Max also managed to pull on 3 occassions

He was 30+ seconds ahead of Bottas with a 18 second stop still to take. So around 12 in front of Bottas but more when it comes to Verstappen.... but he’d just spun. So even more on top of that and then he pitted for the set of inters whilst Hamilton had his crash so in theory it was the 30 seconds had he put on the tyres he wanted.

He also leaped Bottas because of the safety car didn’t he.

Max pulled the advantage when he had Hulk behind him didn’t he? Can’t remember him pulling a huge gap on any other time.

They lost their cool somehow, plus a disadvantage of a safety car is when you do have a penalty, to be served at a pitstop, you go from top five to almost last....

Exactly and Max was held up by Bottas so we didn’t see his real pace. Anyways Hamilton made some rare mistakes, --- happens and no use to talk about if this and that. At least he now got the penalty he deserved also last year. We had a great race, more rain please !

What a race, WOW, I'm still amazed what happened, we havent had a race like this in years!! Last 3 races were superb!
