Well done to Max.

I guess RedBull now have the best car.
You lampoon your own premise, again. Yes, the car is getting better. Why would anyone take that as an insult? Merc have had the best car so far in the turbo hybrid era. Merc drivers place better because of this. Rosberg exists. Bottas exists. Hamilton superfans uncomfortable with acknowledging such basics. But this is delusion.

RB may have had the best chassis since '09, and they may have had the best aero since then as well. They were hindered by the Renault engine for five seasons. If that is being solved with Honda, we should expect the RB drivers to place better.

Who cares who is in the driver's seat.

Should be a good race. Lewis always has better race pace that Bottas so could be a good battle, although its rubbish for overtaking.

Only way this could turn boring is if they get away in the same order and Lewis is stuck behind Bottas while Max runs off.

Would Merc move Bottas over in pursuit of Max?

I think they would personally.

They will want to stop the RBR momentum and Bottas can be rear gunner to ensure a podium is protected.

Clearly they’ll wait to see how it shakes out in the opening laps but if Lewis looks like being held up then yes I can see an order coming and possibly a strategy switch for Bottas.

Of course. If it pans out like so you will see a Hamilton Bottas pitstop overtake.

Do Williams have a fin protruding from the sides of the halo? Haven't noticed this before.

Hamilton's lap looked on point. Would love to see a side by side of his lap with Max's. And as always, ty.

Hamilton misses the apex at turn 2 and turn 6 a bit too much. Turn 2 you dont have to hit the kerb but this was just a tad too wide. Turn 6 he turns in a fraction too late compromising him for turn 7 (second part of the chicane) and the exit of the combination

- Before the Q: Hamilton is the quickest of them all, Botttas only good at low deg tracks (like Silverstone or Hungary or Canada  ), easy pole!
- Q: Bottas is quicker becasue it's a good track for him and/or is quicker
- After Q: Hamilton is ALWAYS quicker in the race (can you believe the nerve of this statement?) but he needs team orders to prove it, give him team orders, give him before the race goddamit, don't wait for the start, the purest racer needs team orders.
- Race: Team orders
- After the race: he would have won without team orders, he would have overtaken Bottas in Australia, he was sick, it didn't happen etc.

I know that here and Monaco it`s all about grabbing the pole. But in Lewis` case knowing he`s got some let`s say comfortable lead, he could be more focused on the long game, if you know what I mean ...
I mean he`s just looking more for being consistently into the big points after the race and if it`s possible, why not, just running for the win!
He can afford that and in order to do that, he just set up his car more towards the race as we could see from Le Castellet race onwards ... hence his better pace management and fastest laps on the final lap of the race

As for the race I think every top team starting on M tyres is on a 1 stop M-H race, maybe M-S-S for Ferrari.
It would be interesting who could stretch the first stint on them  ...

I think with that Mercedes the comfortable way to win is from the front. It always seems better in the lead than tooling around behind. Even when Lewis if fighting through the field it takes more out of the car and we have seen him 'give it a breather' between bouts.

I think he is just human and has had a long half season. It would be far better for him to go to the gap with a win, but as long as he (thinks he) knows where the missing time went he would probably be happy. Shouts of Max is gonna get ya! are very premature and they all know it.
