What does this mean?godlameroso wrote: ↑04 Aug 2019, 13:58Compressor does all the pumping work. Exhaust pulses only leave tiny vacuums in their wake. Their frequency and the temperature of the environment mean even with the turbine at full speed, wastegates wide open, the turbine is still seeing pressure.
Considering what is possible with the H, as a new engine builder I'd want a big compressor relative to the turbine, one that's likely to boost creep. The opposite of what Honda did in 2015.
Thanks for this article, if this is true that would be great news and just in time for the upcoming races (still expecting Ferrari to be fastest). But how come that they didn't use it in qwf then, otherwise they must have gotten pole, no?Pyrone89 wrote: ↑05 Aug 2019, 18:06Mercedes had a new fuel in Hungary giving them 18 extra BHP in every engine mode and less need for fuel saving.

They used it the whole weekend, just one of those almost perfect laps beat them by just 18 thousands.De Jokke wrote: ↑05 Aug 2019, 18:19Thanks for this article, if this is true that would be great news and just in time for the upcoming races (still expecting Ferrari to be fastest). When will Merc bring spec 3? Spa, Monza or later? If they can eke some more out of the engine due to improved cooling, research and now this new fuel, in combination with a better understanding of the upgrade package and a Lewis on fire, this could give dynamite
Yes, 18BHP (always) AND more fuel efficiency (most useful in the race)
They used it the whole weekend, in fact you are not even allowed to use different blends if I am correct.
The still have by far the most poles this year. The RB, due to the lack of powerful qual modes, is still regarded as the biggest improver between quali and race. But these last few races that has been shifting a bit towards a balanced style like Merc has. Ferrari on the other hand can indeed be called a quali car, with far less race pace than quali pace.
