THERE ARE FREE, YES FREE 2008 MODS FOR F1C!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is ripping you off, they shouldn't be selling stuff for free. There are free mods for almost every year since 1990 for F1 Challenge....
Yes to those, F1 Challenge is the latest game developed by EA. Reason i konw is cos i used to mod F12002 and F1 Challenge full time in the last 2-3 years so i konw a lot about the games, F1 2002 was released earlier than F1 Challenge, therefore making it older...
F1 Challenge is MUCH more better, absolutely no comparison to F12002, you must play it to really see the difference. Many people still consider F1 Challenge to be the best F1 game for PC, although quite a few games beat it in graphics and physics, the wide variety and ammount of mods available for F1 Challenge and the user-friendly modding and gameplay makes it a very popular choice ammounts F1 sim enthusiasts....
Yes I agree with much of what you say. However as someone who has followed the Race simulation scene from a time well before EA sports came into the arena with their first offering in 2000. Yes there are free MODs available a lot of these (NOT All I may add) I have found were inconsistant or poorly compiled. The last and often regarded as superior mod being that of Ralph Hummerlich whose RH 2005 mod is still used for Online Racing Sites. Also many of the Modders for F1C are disappearing due to games such as LFS & rFactor.
As for Charisma charging a fee for their work I do NOT find this is a rip off as they are a Software and Video Editing business that does this as a side line and much of the stuff they have put into their Update is their own work as well as the time and skill involved. Often compiling and re-compiling the base code to work seamlessly. Therefore I do not mind paying a nominal fee for this, also as stated once this first fee is paid you get member access to free updates for Tracks, Cars (such as the seasons ever changing aero packages) etc.
I have always been one to hunt for either free or the cheapest option to get something to be satisfied with. And if you saw the current graphics detail, in particular the Singapore Night Track then you may not be so quick to Shout rip-off.
I too would agree LFS & rFactor have superior graphics, but currently in both when it comes to F1 the physics and the fact you only have to race fictional cars let them down for me. Damn those FIA idjuts for not allowing games licensing.
