Well, but only 0.35 gap to a new spec Merc engine with an old Honda Spec 3. Not bad at all. The Spec 4 should be almost equal with Merc at worst . Ferrari at race pace is nothing special, we knew Ferrari would be on pole on that type of track

personally i think merc got pole, we all know the ferrari engine using trick with extra battery to get more power,, last year got caught but fia only told them to change a software setting. ferrari getting an unfair advantage.shame . happy for redbull honda to be 0.3 from merc with spec 3. ferrari have poor race pace , its only in qualy when they use their illegal tricks. mercs are the real pole sitters.

Kvyat was dead last excluding Williams with the spec 4.0. Dont think its as good as its made out to or maybe they disnt turn it up full wack

Max really was only losing out to Mercs the most in sector 2 which is more corners.

You're blind? Red flag before the 2nd run, and Kvyat have penalties for new PU. What is the point on pushing on qualifying? Same for Albon, but he have a faster car. Really, you like to be delusional??

if Max get the spec 4 here in Spa he will finish p5 any way but he can start in Monza at p3 in front of the Mercs , if he stay in spa with spec 3 he will finish p4 maximum infront of VB and start Monza in p 20.

verstappen just said on sky that he wasnt able to run quali modes at all, due to Q1 problem. Supposedly it's a issue with engine mappings which just dont work as they should when quali mode is activated. He says it should be better tommorow when no one will be able to run highest modes for long, so the field should come towards them a bit. He was confident of a podium finish and said he could scrap it with merc in quali with proper high power modes.

Lets not pretend that Kvyat was not pushing. He had nothing to lose from getting into Q2 just like Albon did. The new spec engine from all teams turned out to be a dud. Sainz didnt like it, the Merc for first time on this formula could not stop exploding and even the Ferrari had issues.

Mercedes pu reliability is a question mark Ferrari race pace also .personally I don't understand why Rbr Honda didn't put a new pu on overtaking is pretty easy in spa than monza track position is not important at the start when most cars are bunched up. Mercedes may not also be using quali if you consider their spate of reliability issues.
