There have been a number of incidents in 2019 requiring steward intervention, many of which result in a difference of opinion as to whether a penalty was or was not justified. In this article we look at the actual rules and what punitive measures are available to the race director.
I would have loved to see who comes out on top, but even so, it's all about the tow anyway, so having that said, I think 2 and 3 for Mercedes is fantastic and might (will?) win them the race tomorrow. On one hand, I think Mercedes will have the stronger race pace and if both Mercerdes can retain their positions beyond T1, I think strategy they might have some options to force Ferrari's hand. Could be Bottas win actually if strategy falls into his lap. Gonna be a good race.
But most of all, I am looking forward to a straight fight between Hamilton and Leclerc.
Not for nothing, Rosberg's Championship is the only thing that lends credibility to Hamilton's recent success. Otherwise, he'd just be the guy who's had the best car. — bhall II #Team44 supporter
It was a good old fashioned game of chicken, Mercedes said well we're happy with 2nd and 3rd so make your call and Ferrari said we got pole so make your call. Poor Charles will be out there on his own tomorrow with 2 cars behind easier on tyres, faster race pace with no rear gunner, so advantage Mercedes for now.
a bunch of f**king retards, entire f1 grid. all of them. just no other way to put it. f**k em all. if im paying for ticket on the stands i'd be burning the whole place down.
Wasn't that bad, they all played a game, and it finished the way it did. I found it very entertaining.

The waiting isn't a problem the moving roadblock through turns two and three is a problem.
Of course the waiting is the problem. Even if they all made it none of them would have made good time as they would have been crawling over each other into turn 1.

good times don't matter, but when you're blocking people and preventing them from getting by when you're obviously going slow it's a penalty.
Regarding possibly penalties and those teams moaning about being slowed down - sorry, but if they wait until the 2 minute clock and leave it that late, well, then they're all to blame for putting themselves in that mess. Fair game really.

This sh*t is gonna be worse next year due to the same aero regulations, unless F1 does something about it.
The 2021 regulations will most likely stop this nonsense, not completely destroy it, but water it down to maybe 2017 level where slipstream wasn't THAT important in quali.
