According to Hamilton, Mercedes loses 0.8 sec to Ferraris on the straights.

https://www.crash.net/f1/news/930251/1/ ... -straights
which as you can see above your post isn't true, there they're fastest lap was only 0.2s in each sector
Problems with math ? If car loses 0.8 on a straight and gains 0.6 on other parts, then total differnce is 0.2s

The most interesting performance is from Perez! On Race sim, his times are faster than that of Lewis! He also did Softs and Mediums stint like Lewis did. But on quali run, Perez was almost 1.1 seconds slower than Lewis. Not sure what to concur out of it. This shows the variety and differences in PU modes.

That is interesting, perhaps fuel load had something to do with it. Fuel load is worth a lot around here, the difference between pole and race pace is something like 5 seconds. Also I would discount those short 1st stints and see that Hamilton still has the better part of a second's edge on Perez.

By the looks of FP2 today, I don't think Mercedes will qualify on pole or win a race on pure merit for the remainder of the year.

They are done for this season. Stopped the development of the car too early.

TD's neutered their car.

the 1st sector is almost flat out all the way with the long left hand turn, but for 85-90% the 1. sector is high speed, and how much did they lose in the 1. sector..... correct 0.2s, when the 1st sector was like the 3rd sector i would say "yeah you are right" now.... i don't ....oh and FYI.... the complete track is around 75% high speed

Merc is slow on the straight line. Their tyres have to be significantly better to successfully pass.

Hamilton said that they lose 0.8 on the “straights” not on sector 1... There are straights on every sector.
