I agree!
then you try to fill 3 hours on a friday without boring the viewers..... he tries to losen up things and hold in thoughts Crofty has to keep all viewers satisfied and try to find comparisons that even a unregular viewer understand what is meant (which he did by comparing the reversed grid with a new rule that was introduced in cricket)Radley wrote: ↑28 Sep 2019, 07:47I truly can't stand Crofty. Watch FP 1 & 2 and you will see he's bored by the cars and goes on and on about pajamas or pancakes or cricket and thinks he's so clever.
I watch Formula 1 because it's the highest technological form of racing. I really respect it when a team gets it right and dominates. Lotus, Williams, McLaren, Ferrari, Renault, Red Bull and Mercedes all rose to the top and it's a remarkable achievement to witness. Meanwhile David Croft is bored and tries to make up little games to play. Asking him to do 3 hours on Friday is more than he can handle.
I don't want cute.
then lets skype and you talk me through 3 hours of Friday pratice and see how long you can keep me interested ..... deal?strad wrote: ↑28 Sep 2019, 20:10I would at least talk to the viewer and about what's going on at the track. Not some inside joke between me and DiResta or what I had for breakfast.
Croft actually thought the brace for mounting the pitot rake was an advancement the team was trying out and Kravitz couldn't explain what the Heave Spring was or how it worked.
Tired of hearing how SKY is better cause they're at the track and not locked away in a booth when that is exactly how Croft works. Often they can't even tell you where something is happening on the track because all he has is monitors where he is locked in his booth.
Evidently SKY hasn't discovered the telestrator and how to operate a sound mix board.
I was initially so happy we were going to get the much vaulted British coverage only to be massively disappointed. The ONLY thing better is the lack of commercial breaks. IMO
A. It doesn't all have to be hardcore but it does need to be F1 centered with the emphasis on F1.you produce a hardcore in depth nuts and bolts show with no emphasis on entertainment, and you get a very small specialised audience as a result, and the sport starts to die as everyone else switches off.
That is exactly what most viewers want and certainly the die hard F1 enthusiast does NOT want what you call razzmatazz which just amount to inane prattle. The majority of people do not care about new winglets or aero tweaks or engine evolutions. They care about the drivers and the razzmatazz.
.Don’t you think if the powers that be were not happy with the presentation they’d tell the commentators to cut it out or change tone? They are delivering what they aim to.
I don't know. Have you watched much TV lately? (I have not, I hate it) it is all 'personal stuff'strad wrote: ↑03 Oct 2019, 23:44People can make al the excuses they want. The fact remains we tune in for F1 related discussion and not some inside joke that no one gets but them because it relates to something that happened on the plane or at breakfast.
Facts, figures and inside information is what they are getting paid to deliver and what we want.
