Hey guys, just a bit of a heads up; we’ve noticed that the rules don’t specifically prohibit “floating” parts (parts that are not connected to anything else) but suffice to say that this was not our intention
....If you have floating parts don’t worry; this round you’re OK... but I’ll shortly update the rules... next round warnings/penalties will be applied to anyone with floating parts.
Why? It's not like you have to prove the rest of the aero is structurally sound. Can't it just be assume it's suspended by something smaller than mesh scale?
Yes and no, obviously some cars have parts that would realistically have to be supported by small parts. We do not really want to have them in the simulations. In previous years there was a rule that would have banned your solution. We do not have that this year because it is a subjective rule. However your part is a bit over the top. Richard and I are discussing what to do about it. This race, you are obviously safe and if we do not come up with a solution until Sunday, the next race as well. The simplest solution would be, you simply attach the part.

Not sure how to take the close ups of my barge boards, probably means they are OK, really bad or have holes
share as much as you want though
Who said only you are getting exposed?
