I'm a big Leclerc fan but I do think Verstappen deserves leniency in this situation.
He didn't get much warning and could easily have missed that flag as he was at speed.

It seemed to take far too long for yellow flags to appear in this situation.

Now, that barrier was ridiculous. Bottas should have just continued on sliding against the wall until he stopped.
Instead the Tecpro juting out stopped him very violently.

In my view there are more questions to be asked of track management then of Verstappen.

micro-sectors of max his pole lap: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EH08c6MX0Ag ... ame=medium
makes it clear and this flaming can stop now.
No. He has a similar pattern in other laps. So this proves nothing. And it's not flaming. Vettel braked at yellow on his good lap and Verstappen did not. He could have done it. He did not. He endangered others and himself.

It’s impossible to do a faster lap when you lift off at the point where the yellow flag was waved.

Didn't Hamilton lift off at the last corner, what time did he set on his second lap and how was his final sector?

Whoever did not lift off should be given 5 positions grid penalty. Period. Enough with the rules according to your name system.

Verstappen in the PC, asked by
@EdmondsonESPNF1
if he saw VB had crashed: "I was aware Valtteri crashed" Q: Did you back off? "It didn't really look like it did it? No."
Max asked again on the yellow flag, from a safety perspective, "I think we know what we are doing. Otherwise we wouldn’t be driving an F1 car. It’s qualifying, you go for it, but like I said before if they want to delete the lap then delete the lap."

There isn't even an investigation. FIA finding a new low every race weekend. Great.

And that's a reason, he should be penalized. He is not aware of the problem. Even if he knows what he is doing (he clearly is not) he cannot predict what could happen. He has not learned at all. Sad.

How far off was his last sector on his second lap compared to his first run.

Maybe he set a faster lap because he was purple in the second sector?

Yep, same happened last year in Sochi, didn't slow down under yellow flags and got a three place grid drop.

If Hamilton gets on the podium tomorrow, he may have a chance to clinch the WDC.
