Regardless of who we're talking about (and I think Albon is the success story of this season), teams are in F1 to make money as their primary goal. If they think they'll make more money through marketing than through performance then they will prioritise marketing. In this case, Red Bull are a hundred points off Ferrari and two hundred points clear of 4th. That said, RBR are in the fortunate position that promoting Albon and retaining him would appear to make both sporting and financial sense so it was likely an easy choice.
