Hamilton had a very poor last corner on his prep lap, you can hear him having to come off the power. I wonder if it cost him at all going up the hill.

That Red Bull sounds amazing, dare I say it but rivals the V8. 😁
I say a word about the sound..

Blown diffus..... Ah no, if only it would be possible

Some sort of off throttle blowing?

Yup I too though when I heard it first, but it most probably the placement of mic in the car which makes those noises

At times Mercedes have made a similar noise but not so loud and clear, I'll try to find some videos.

it sounds a lot like good old ALS with rich mixture going into exhaust without a spark to burn up there to keep the turbo spinning, maybe they got the overall efficiency to a point where it makes sense to waste fuel that way to combat turbo lag

But why change the philosophy that dominated since the summer break?

All those pole positions, 3 wins that should have been at least 5 if not for bad starts/strategies.

Lets stop winning and make it hard for ourselves.

I just don't buy it.

Thank you for posting this.

Just makes it clear(er) that Ferrari outaccelerates the Redbull also in non-DRS areas despite having much more wing.

Many different views on Ferrari in this thread. Looks to me from the vid the accelerative punch they once had has been lost somehow

Seb had the neatest lap out of the top 3 IMO, super smooth but just not quite quick enough.

Does someone else think it's an advantage for Vettel to start on the sunny side of the track instead of Verstappen, starting on the shady side? :?:

Headwind into turn 1, and a tail wind into turn 4. Tire strategy may play a role as may safety cars. The high speed turns that put energy on the tires are clock wise turns. This is a counter clockwise circuit so I think the tires wear will be ok. 1 stop, maybe an aggressive 2 stop.
