From the front view, the front and rear wings look a little odd. From a quarter or side view though I think the BMW looks pretty good.

I like it. Clean. Definitely like the sidepods.

I think the rear wing end plates look daft compared to the size of the wheel. They are only there for sponsorship :(

The front wings look old and silly too...last years pieces were so complex they oozed cutting edge aero.

I'm guessing we'll see them get slightly more organic looking again...

Eh. I hated the way all the aero bits have looked over the past year or so. I can do without that look :)

F*&kin' 'ell!! Hope he recovers fully and is fit for the new season.

I think a new thread would be appropriate.

I bet bottom view is even better! As Kubica said, it looks way better from the inside

From side view it actually looks like a Formula BMW car. Big wings, small sidepods and wheels.

They could be tyre temp measures (Infra-red detectors on the bar) or they could be torque transducers to measure forces at the driven wheels as well as the steering ones.

I guess maybe it's different if you measure whilst the tyre is running, but I've always understood that surface tyre temps aren't actually that useful - it's much better to probe to the core of the tyre.

To my mind, this tool is used to measure the deformation of the tire at a certain speed.
Don't forget it was the main problem for Renault when they had to leave the Michelin tires to use the common Bridgestone : those ones modified the aerodynamic flow while the Michelin did not.

I 've said it before but no one believed me: the BMW "mechanic getting electrocuted" incident had nothing to do with KERS, it was their dog repellent system for road cars. Finally found proof of that ad.
