2015 and 2017 combined Ferrari had 5 poles. 2019 3 poles before the summer break 6 poles after the summer break. Dominance in qualifying where Red Bull and Mercedes were both noticibly befuddled by it. Hamilton claiming post break that they were losing 7 or 8 tenths in the straights compared to Ferrari.Sevach wrote: ↑01 Dec 2019, 18:53Singapore is bumpy, Yas Marina is silky smooth, not the same thing at all.TAG wrote: ↑01 Dec 2019, 18:06Did Ferrari get a new chassis in the last few races or something? I remember their chassis doing so well in Singapore and that circuit is pretty much all sector 3 Abu Dhabi. Coming into the new season, I'd be worried with such an inexplicable loss of overall performance. They don't have the same legs on the straights and now have an even larger gap in the twisty section. I'm sure it's nothing they won't be able to figure out over the winter break.
Mercedes had a stinker in Singapore 2015, locked the front row in Abu Dhabi.
Hamilton was third row in Singapore 2017, pole in Abu Dhabi.
It may be nothing but the circumstantial evidence for those who are willing to acknowledge it stinks more than Ferrari's chassis.
I don't know, I'm not an expert but the simplest of explanations are usually the right explanations. In any case, the season is over. Water under the bridge and Vettel will be sporting a yellow T bar next season.
