Nyck de Vries also got a penalty for overtaking during the SC.Coming under investigation after the race, the 22 year-old driver was handed a 24 second time penalty, which relegated him down the order. Moving up to the podium was Mercedes' Stoffel Vandoorne, who clinched his second podium of the race weekend, rounding off a sensational debut performance for new manufacturer works squad Mercedes-Benz EQ team.
Following a chaotic season opener in Saudi Arabia, BMW i Andretti Motorsport's Max Guenther lost his podium finish after the FIA found him in breach of the regulations for overtaking Audi Sport ABT Schaeffler's Lucas di Grassi while the BMW i Safety Car was out.
Interesting, but if my maths are correct (and assuming you meant 4kWh), that´s almost 10C charging... Not even high C Lipo batteries can take thatjjn9128 wrote: ↑20 Dec 2019, 02:03Some interesting details in the FIA chassis tender for gen3 (starting 2022/23) CxS target is 0.6, the average for F1 is more like 1.35, CzS target it 1.5-2.0 where F1 is more like 5.5, crazy numbers, very slippery cars.
Possibly moving to 20" wheels just as F1 joins the 21 century with their 18s. Front axle energy recovery up to 250kW, rear axle increasing to 350kW max, total power 350kW (~470bhp) in quali, 300kW in race. Battery weight dropping to 284kg from 385kg but slightly less capacity 51kWh not 54kWh, but they want to include fast charge to add 4kW in a 30s pitstop.
As long as it is the min time regulated and not the amount or energy added it could be good. If ever there was a road associated requirement to develop, its rapid charging.Andres125sx wrote: ↑20 Dec 2019, 19:40Interesting, but if my maths are correct (and assuming you meant 4kWh), that´s almost 10C charging... Any idea about what battery technology are they talking about?
Not very happy about the idea, adding pit-stops and waiting 30 seconds to charge not even a 8% of the battery...I´d cut race lenght an 8% and keep it without any pit-stop
