Lewis is trying to get Mercedes to follow Tesla in using vegan 'leather' in its road cars:
"Mercedes-Benz is a huge organisation, and I have got a phone call with the CEO later today to discuss how we can work on getting rid of all the leather supplied to the cars," Hamilton told Malaysian magazine The Edge, according to Auto Week. "I want to be part of a system that is going to help heal the world and do something positive for the future." (Motor1)
pretty cool afaic. And what a great way for an F1 team to lead its road car division
apart from the animal welfare /humanity aspect, apparently
leather production in the UK generated 39,000 tonnes of CO2 in 2017 , on top of the issues with water pollution and the feeding. See? F1
