McLaren MCL35 Speculation Thread

I had previously suggested an A spec MCL35 after they posted some teaser photos of carbon bits with '35A' on them. Now they have this as the banner for an article about building a 2020 F1 car...

Why are you so obsessed over then having an A spec car? Even if they have an A it doesn't mean there will be a B. It doesn't mean they've found loads of performance or a new concept etc.

It's meaningless, especially when the cars are consistently changing throughout the season. The car they have in testing might be completely different by the time we get to the second race.

Fair point. I believe the use AkzoNobel for both the F1 car and road cars. I found an article confirming the Sikkens range is used on the F1 cars, no info for the road cars but probably the same.

McLaren have been naming the first iteration of the Car "A" for ages. Doesn't mean there is a B Spec coming.

Naah, look at the cans, the red one says "Light Grey", the orange ones says "activator" and "hardener"

But if you're correct, they could ad a little white, and it would be just like a Repsol livery, which would have fitted better when they were with Honda

They are trolling us hard... They know that we will all be zooming in on every picture trying to find “something” and since they won’t be revealing anything, at least they are letting us find Baby Yoda... Mclaren’s way to play “Find Waldo”?... They are really becoming the “cool” team in the grid.

I'm more intrigued by the sidepods - which are the only discernable elements in the photo. They look slim.
