Well, let's hope it survives that storm coming over around now (though if Suzuka is still there, why not)Wouter wrote: ↑07 Feb 2020, 23:25For the people who are wondering what all those green strips are next to the race track .....
They sprayed a mixture with grass seeds on it. If you search on YouTube under "Hydroseeding", you can see the execution of the work in multiple videos.
Hydroseeding
Hydroseeding is a technique whereby (grass) seeds, if desired even pre-germinated, are sprayed with a mixture consisting of natural wood fibers and compost under high pressure to form a smooth layer. This layer contains nutrients and adhesives, which means that within a short period of time you will even have a nice grass cover on sloping sandy soil and on steep slopes.
Rapid germination of grass seed
Hydroseeding is often used in situations where rapid germination of the seed is very important, for example in the case of water and wind erosion. In addition, hydroseeding is also widely used in difficult conditions, such as on slopes.
Probably less I think, for a downforce car. If you look at the pic with the arrows, the downforce force will still be on a 90 degree angle with the road, so it won’t “suck” the car to the inside of the corner like its mass does. (It will follow the dark blue arrow)
