1.7l turbo I4 in V8 era F1 cars. About 80 Less HP, but 3x more torque!

At the risk of starting the torque vs power debate again, mentioning torque at the engine is practically meaningless.

If it's got less power but 3x more torque then it's likely running a 3x lower reduction on the final drive.

And this means much less torque at the wheels (which is where it matters).

I only mention it because he makes the point in the video.

Its still a 2013 grade chassis/aero with a nice 4cyl.

I wonder the price??

He mentioned 1.5 million in the video.

He also said it has twice the torque of the F1 car which seems reasonable as it sounds like its revving to about half of the RPM of the V8 Cosworth that it replaced. So the final drive it likely twice as long.

Rpm range is also more usable and as such driver wont have to shift gears as much.

That would be the infamous AER 91B (I think?)
It almost bankrupted the company when FIA decided against the inline 4 for F1.

Glad to see it being put to good use!

Nope, apparently it is something to do with mountune.
Maybe it's the 1.8 audi engines they used to do for F2.

I'd have to take the 2013 Sauber clone over the 2012 Marussia tho...
