Look at the RB9 - apart from it having the coanda exhaust at the end, the RB16 sidepods look like an evolved version of that - it's what they were using to great effect until 2014.Emag wrote: ↑12 Feb 2020, 19:46The Sidepod shape is very weird. It's not really exactly like Mercedes's last year, but I am assuming they are trying to achieve the same thing. Instead of "sending" the air around the sidepod to the rear-end, perhaps it is better to make a straight path for it over the sidepod, since the air probably loses less energy this way? Interesting concept, let's see how it turns out.
First thing I thought of when I saw the "Crease" over the top of the sidepod leading toward the rear/floor.bosyber wrote: ↑12 Feb 2020, 20:04Look at the RB9 - apart from it having the coanda exhaust at the end, the RB16 sidepods look like an evolved version of that - it's what they were using to great effect until 2014.Emag wrote: ↑12 Feb 2020, 19:46The Sidepod shape is very weird. On the RB15 some of the rear wheel was covered by the body work. On the RB16 you can see all of the tire and some of the floor, clearly much tighter packaging this year.
Pictures are in different angles and even different sizes to make that assessmentgodlameroso wrote:On the RB15 some of the rear wheel was covered by the body work. On the RB16 you can see all of the tire and some of the floor, clearly much tighter packaging this year.
