The turning vane in the foreground is attached to the lower horizontal flap that makes up part of the side impact structure.

This car has some very interesting details. It looks like the first time we are seeing, but they seem to carry over from last year's car. I guess no one cared to look back then!

I like the aggressive look. The engine cover looks like a pregnant goat but side pods are extremely tight. The livery looks like a clown with war paint.. i hope she goes well.

Honestly, for a car that is essentially supposed to be an FW42B this exceeds my expectations. Most off the oddball elements of last year's car have been smoothed out (literally in some cases).

Things like the odd front suspension geometry are a bit more conventional, sidepods are tighter and definitely give off some 2011-2013 vibes with that slope going right to the floor. The inlets are very small (as were last year's). I think it's odd that their little fins on the front (above the cameras) are mounted on the side of the chassis rather than the top like most others but I doubt it makes a huge difference.

Hopefully the car is less draggy than last year (it can't possibly be more, right?) and with caution I could see the team in the midfield. Not expecting miracles but maybe steal the occasional 9th or 10th.

To me it looks like there are 2, 1 kind of little one dangling from the side impact structure and a much bigger one to the right of that which seems to merge into the sidepod

I think that's the thing right?

It appears to be guiding the air into the undercut.

Im glad to see William's with a big change. This car was probably the development focus since Australia last year, so it may actually be the most time developed car on the grid this year, and that could catch other teams by surprise early season.

They've had those in the same location for the last four or five years. I think they're attachments for sensors and/or thermal cameras etc

That back end rather reminds me of the 1983 Brabham as to how small the sidepods are.

On time!, and first glance looks good. All we can ask for now.

Think they need to earn points on 2 or 4 occasions throughout the season. No counting on German GP type semi-set conditions to put so many other cars off the road.

The “overcut” on the sidepods looks really good... It will be interesting to see who got it right between the teams going for the overcut as Williams or the undercut as Mclaren.

Very happy to see that Williams is having a better start to the season compared to last year... The car also looks better finished and who knows, they might be mixing it up with the rest of the field after a couple of bad years.

If they do, F1.5 could be amazing in 2020!!!

The Williams features very small radiator cooling inlets compared to the Mercedes. Is this because of the type of intercooler they're running (air-to-air vs air-to-water)?
