My idea was suspending the MR material in hydraulic fluid, and using an AC coil, bent in the middle, to actually use an oscillating frequency to actually "pump" the fluid. It actually worked, but I lacked the funds to build a prototype latger than the 1/8 in. tubing that I used to see if any motive power could be derived from it.
Someday, I will have enough banked cash to build a few full-sized prototypes, but until then....
