It seems like the wheels themselves move when the steering wheel does! Very bizarre

I'm watching testing live now and it is going onboard with Hamilton.

When he is on a DRS straight he pulls the steering wheel and something changes on his screen and when he reaches the end of the straight he pushes it back!

I think his screen was showing MARKER: ON/OFF

What could that be?

It's changing the toe angle.

Not sure I can see that (geolock), so adding a home-brew from twitter

edit:
perhaps clearer

From the regs.
10.2.3 No adjustment may be made to any suspension system while the car is in motion.
Not sure how this is legal.

Marker is a note to self thing, that records where he is exactly and some other data, and reminds him to talk to his engineers about something afterwards

He changes a setting on the steering wheel as he pulls it i.e "MARKER". Surely that's increasing the tyre scrub slowing him down the straight but perhaps it allows the tyres to keep up to temperature ready for the next corner?

By that same token, Mercedes had to know this would be spotted, so I’m guessing that they have an argument that it very much is.

Front wheels are normally toed out, he pulls the wheel and they toe in. Reducing scrub.

You can very clearly see the wheels/tires move in unison with the input from Lewis. It’s adjusting something on the front suspension which, as someone above has already posted, seems blatantly illegal.... very bizarre

Could the wheel be changing something in the gearing on the steering rack? I can't imagine it would be lock or the speed of the lock, but could it be linked to how they drop the nose at turn in?

Could they maybe argue that it is not changing the suspension but "steering" the front wheels individually?
