Anyhow.. DAS looks very innovative indeed. I hope it stays so we can have another detail to discuss :D
Hope not cause it's boring right now, after couple of hours of discussing...
They invented it - cool. It's legal - cool. Done. Enough.

It's obvious that you can't win all races and so on only cause such little thing. It's not crucial factor.

Thanks, though, after 6 years of defeats it's not that easy to keep cool as I finally want Ferrari to win. :)
But I'm an optimistic person and it's still very early days. So let's wait and see how things pan out eventually.
6 years? not 12? :P

but yes you have Charles now, he can be the difference you need. The engineering is good, the diva chairmen are gone, Mattia is cool, and clever. The standard is ridiculous in this era but when it's close you can win

Well, as scarbs said on his YouTube, it's most likely FIA judged the intended system and effect to be legal. The final implementation can still differ, and there can be benefits of the system not originally accounted for. So if the main benefit turns out to be aerodynamic, illegality can still be argued by competitors. I don't think we heard the last of it yet. But for now, it's there. Time will tell if it stays.

Just thinking out loud... If there is front wheel contact in the race, will it bump the steering wheel and the driver's arm now has to absorb the force or just simply has to deal with not just rotational but in and out motion of the steering wheel?

EDIT: NVM find more discussion on this in car thread.

Just read a youtube comment that the steering wheel looks very similar to Hamilton's pole lap in Baku 2017!

Watch closely.

The second day of testing for the Formula One teams was another productive day, with good weather and solid reliability both present at Circuit de Catalunya.

Very first braking zone, around 8 secs in, the steering wheel gets pulled towards him.
