Another off-track excursion. I do hope it's because they are really pushing it in corners (while bagging the straights), and for some reason (as a form of sandbagging?) running the ironing board for a rear wing. But the spins and touristic gravel rides do start to make me a bit nervous...

It seems like RP's Andrew Green was right about ditching the Red Bull high rake aero design philosophy, it comes with too much aero imbalance.

Seems like engine mapping issues. Again...

At least the preseason test is the time to have it and solve it. They are trying something different on the PU, so it may take some time to master it. I'm not too much worried about it, even with that low DF setup the car looks quite good, so we will see

I just watched the onboard of Red Bull doing the long run, and on the straight Max didn't use 8th gear. Interesting.

It was chilly this morning, it's getting better but the wind is picking up. Don't focus on lap times yet, they're working on understanding the new aero parts, and Honda is starting to tune their Aus spec engine. Tomorrow it should all come together, even then the true RB16 won't be seen until Melbourne.

They've been doing a lot of setup-test runs, a lot of new stuff on the car. I not see this as a bad thing. If you look at Mercedes, they seem to have more troubles than expected too...

Agree they brought a lot of new stuff to the car today, way more than meets the eye. At least the power unit is working well on the sister team. Furthermore, I understand it was just niggles and small issues today, and that these things happen. I just wished for a little more running from Red Bull today so that they could wrap up testing with ease. Instead we will have to cram some of today's program into tomorrow morning, and hopefully we can have everything dialed in by the time the test wraps up.

Big push from here until Melbourne to get that extra little bit of performance out of the car.

Sounds like they didn't plan on doing as much running so sounds like they've done all their major testing was already done. Which makes sense seeing as they introduced the new aero today which I imagine will be what they are running in Australia.
