Norris says most people probably did qualy runs in the morning because the wind was forecast to pick up. I guess this is it from McLaren on short runs. I'm quite happy.

well. im a bit worried about qualy pace, long runs look good, but as we know getting into the front in qualy makes a hell of a difference...
i dont think we did a true qualy try ( even if we got 10 laps of fuel on board) but if they did... well then that 4 place is in danger.
lets wait now for Australia ( even if australia is a one off kind of track )

Norris also said they hadn't really done low fuel, just that this was the closest we'd see to that (before AUS) from thwm, and, most likely from the rest too, due to the wind.

Stop worrying so much. Predictions last year: McLaren P9, Ferrari P1 with some reporting almost a second quicker than everybody else.

yeah but people who think they were p9 were sleeping for sure, and turned out they were.
I think we are p4 this year in race pace, but maybe p5 or p6 in qualy ( hope also p4 at least ) but yeah lets wait and see.

He also said that he set his fastest time on a C3 tire but the motorsport.com graphics show C4? Did he misspeak?

He also did not sound optimistic about their pace relative to the racing point car. I think Mclaren is fighting Renault for 5th currently. We will see if they can out develop racing point as the season progresses.

He didnt really improve his time on the C4
