You refer to the formula E tire? That one is very hard all weather tire. I think Pirelli or any could make one set for the season. Problem then is, probably could only put down 10% of the power.

From my understanding, all 10 current teams' freight is covered and that is taken out of the total amount of revenue of FOM before the Liberty takes their cut.

Regarding the cost of going to Australia without racing.

The teams would have the garages mostly sea freighter with only the cars, engines, spares etc flown. Team personnel flown on chartered flights most probably, on a slightly discounted rate on the F1 global partners Emirates, Air freight handled by DHL. Hotel booking, which each team have a hotel partner/sponsor. Catering for their paddock spaces for the team and guests. Small ground transportation fees. Payment of staff, per diems etc.

Very hard to calculate, because it was to be paired with Bahrain in order to share and lower some costs. The teams have several set of sea freight which move around the world.

The destruction of all the tires is just a tiny reminder that F1's entire existence is enormously wasteful, expensive, harmful to the environment, etc., etc., etc.

I always laugh when an issue or new rule comes up and the rationale is "more environmentally friendly" or "helps contain costs" and this type of thing.

If you care about the environment and/or want to conserve money, eliminate F1 entirely and immediately!

If you want to enjoy the pinnacle of world motorsport, let F1 goes its own way, and don't talk to me about costs or environmental impact or anything else .

It's a luxurious, wasteful exercise done mostly in the name of entertainment.

Just because it's entire existence is wasteful does not mean that it can not be improved.

13 set of tires(dry) per weekend is extremely wasteful, not just in production costs of the tires, but in their shipping, number of wheel required and shipped, number of tires warmed. A longer life tire like in 2005 would save enormously and would reduce marbles off line giving better passing opportunities. Unfortunately pirelli are incapable of producing a suitable tire regardless of the spec given to them.

It’s not that Pirelli can’t make a tyre that can last a race distance they can easily do that. They have been mandated to make a tyre that can’t last a race distance.

Don’t hate on Pirelli when they are just doing their job.

Meant the le mans lmp1h tyres were they are restricted to 12 sets for a race, while most of the factory Toyota, Porsche and Audi completed with less than that. And lmp1 at one point was not restricted in hybrid power and had well over 1000hp during deployment (last few years it has been capped at 1000).
