What is also interesting is the different approach between countries. This is something which should be UN / Who organized. If we do a Hurd immunity, and Italy tries to eliminate it with a lock down it simply won't work will it? Or is also their reasoning behind a lock down a controlled spread?
That would be ideal... but the current political climate is quite the opposite.

You don't catch it through the skin. Touching stuff isn't a problem so long as you don't touch your nose or mouth and so give access to your respiratory tract. So touching the shopping trolley or fuel pump is ok. Just wash your hands before touching your face.
So I shouldn't lick the airline toilet seat like that one idiot?

I would be sorely dissapoint if he doesn't get himself tested in short order. In fact he and his famiky should quarantine themselves until everyone is all clear.

And licking toilet seats has never been a great idea anyway...

If, as suggested by the article, he might have got it at he event with Elba, he'll have already passed it to everyone in the paddock anyway. They're all in the same situation.

There seems to be a much simpler way to get rid of Corona. Atleast, in some part of this world!

Well this will be a test of evolution.... Maybe it'll turn out that these people will gain herd immunity and the rest of humanity will go extinct.

Research: Coronavirus can be contagious in air for hours
New research published in https://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/N ... tured_home
the New England Journal of Medicine shows that the COVID-19 virus can survive in the air for up to three hours and even on surfaces for days.

The virus can survive for up to three days on plastic and stainless steel. The virus was no longer viable on cardboard after a maximum of 24 hours. The COVID-19 virus survives up to four hours on copper.

Here you can find the list of countries infected by the Coronavirus Pandemic. Is updated every (?) Hour.

Lockdown any country for three weeks and that country will cease to exist, economically. That's the reality and why no one has done it. No one. If a shop is open and people are allowed to go to it then you're not in lock down. Lock down is the same as house arrest. No one in or out. Doors locked. No movement. Nothing.

So, remind which country has implemented a lock down? I'll wait.
You're arguing semantics now. Obviously, there are various forms of lockdown. What most people in here are referring to as in "lockdown" (and I among others defined this quite clearly) and what is the case in Italy, is one where everything is shutdown except for what is required to maintain basic services.

This basically includes:
Health services (everyone working in that field, from hospitals to pharmacies), electricity, government, police, food supply, grocery stores, gas-stations, public transportation. This may also include companies who supply other services like telephone, internet, hosting providers etc.

If you shut these down as well, then you will have far bigger problems than just the virus, obviously. This form of shutdown means that everyone working in different areas of the industry that are not required to maintain basic infrastructure are not required to be outside and should either close down or maintain their services from home-office. This is effectively the level of "lockdown" people are discussing and what Spain and Italy, I think Austria also, have implemented so far.

Allowed on the street and in public are only people who are getting food, medicine, need to care for people and supply help or work in one of the above named areas. This reduces the amount of people outside significantly and therefore also the spread. Prohibited are groups of people or people who do not already share the household together (already implemented in some countries, like Austria). This form of lockdown reduces uncontrolled spread while maintaining basic services for everyone.

Now sure, the chain of who is required for basic services is large. Even a food supply chain is dependent on sub contractors etc. But there are also many business who are clearly not in this field who need to shutdown or continue their work from home, if possible, and should be refrained from going out unnecessarily (certainly not to pursuit their line of work).
Not for nothing, Rosberg's Championship is the only thing that lends credibility to Hamilton's recent success. Otherwise, he'd just be the guy who's had the best car. — bhall II

I don't think Corona hangs around on toilet seats, no more so than other surfaces anyway. That said, a person who would do this probably doesn't think very much about what they do so long as it gets them views and what not. Thinking about it a bit, shock videos used to be shocking. This is a video of a girl who is licking a toilet seat that she has wiped clean thoroughly beforehand.
