Hi, is it correct if the Linux version of MFLOW is called 2004 and Win version 2005? Is there any solver settings/mesh/bc changes from 2003?
I somehow made a mistake and fixed it yesterday evening. Somehow the wrong MFlow version for Linux was up, with so few Linux users, I thought nobody would notice and yet you did. You can download the newer version if you like. Linux users using CLI will not notice any difference. The trouble from the last weeks was purely Windows related.

Not really been making any gains anymore so this is the car I've submitted for the first round. AGR is the team.

Looks very cool. What is the bulge on the sides for?

Wow! It looks very nice. I can't wait to see also all the cars.

The race is getting closer, but I haven't understood if the cars will be simulated (for the official time) with the normal or the long process. Results slightly change unsing one instead of the other... so I was wondering which one will be used :)
Long, usually on good cars, it does not make a huge difference. On wilder cars, actually more than the 5000 iterations would be good but I somehow have to terminate things. As it usually does bot affect the top cars, I guess my approach should be ok.

Engine cylinder head/cam cover.

Yes, I am using the Linux version and CLI so I did not notice any difference. Thanks!

By the way: the GUI had problems caused by my very old (2012) graphic board with Xubuntu 18.04 but it works better with Ubuntu Mate, also based on Ubuntu 18.04... I can't found a good reason for this behaviour.

Hey Guys,

Unfortunately I see no other option then also recant from the first race.
My car is not yet ready.
I was hoping that the delay of 1 week would give me more breathing room but that was not the case.
My work and personal live have soaked up most of the time last couple of weeks.

But to end on a positive note, I still very much would like to participate so I will be aiming for the second race to make my debut.
All the best to everybody in the competition, I love reading this thread and see the developements you guys are doing.

Keep it up!

Nice to see a fellow Onshaper though.
Do you use any special settings for .stl export from onshape?
Not for anything except the monitoring surfaces - but I use step files for those as detailed a few pages back. Snappyhexmesh kinda does what it does with any stl so ultra-high quality isn't all that important. As long as there are no holes and the shape is actually captured.

Hide the diffuser! Why didn't I think of that #-o

Looks like the Hispania livery  hopefully fares better for you.

Conservative approach for CAEdevice...will it pay off?

If he manages to correct the balance issues from last year (which shouldn't be difficult), he could be once again a serious title contender.

Balance issues? The problem for me was low downforce (compared to you and Koldskaal) not balance (except SPA but it was more a simulation issue).

I really wanted to work on my car again, but no time, no time. So I will just race in my old car again. I still plan to work on it for the next races, though. Until then I just enjoy the pretty renderings!

No good looking pictures of the car but currently looking at a 79.61's at Monaco if my simulations match the official.
Still need to improve cooling a bit and get the balance spot on... Not feeling hopeful that this will qualify though.

Slightly off topic, but I was recently on a web seminar for AWS CFD for motorsport applications. The presentation included an example simulation using a 2017 F1 car model which was provided by Formula One. Thought y'all might like to see it.

Great! Thank you!
That's not an official car though, is it?

It's actually just depressing how much more downforce they can generate from the floor

It started off as the 2017 Manor which the FOM aeros then made some small changes to (as far as I can tell just adding a halo).
