Yes, formula 1 drivers tend to have ridiculous amounts of self belief, and I'm sure in his mind he thinks he is going to go in there and blast leclerc into the weeds, leaving Ferrari no option but to make him no1.

I think this is the key. Most tend to believe, for most of their careers, that it's only circumstance that prevents them from being in the front-running cars, beating the other driver and winning races. Carlos' approach makes 100% sense if you put himself in his shoes and, if you take last year to be of any indication, maybe he can make another big jump in performance and actually battle Leclerc. But I genuinely believe that if he can't up his game, then Leclerc will pretty much wipe the floor with him. I genuinely like him, he seems like a stable, ambitious person, but I don't see him as having the same potential. There's a lot of hard work hidden behind his results and that will only get you so far.

Fantastic news about Ricciardo despite a slight tinge of sadness to see Sainz depart. The fact they confirm Norris for 2021 as well is interesting, I thought he was only on a one year deal? Did I miss something earlier as I thought he was only signed tied down until the end of this season or have they put faith in him for another year despite no racing this year to judge his progression? Either way I’m very happy, haven’t been as excited for a driver lineup since Hamilton & Button in 2010!

Norris signed a 3 year deal when he extended last year, there was a report on it by Andrew Benson and also the Guardian. What I can’t say is if it comes with conditions, to be confirmed each year.

Do you realy believe that Mercedes engine in basic team = Mercedes engine in client team? Especially if we are talking about new specs? I know that rules says they must be the same but... you know what I mean. Mercedes would not allow to be beaten by another team with their engine, it will be so shame...
