Mercedes F1 full factory team future fate for 2021 beyond

Post

With Mercedes F1 full factory team yet to announce their F1 future plans for 2021 beyond, Mercedes F1 full factory team could have more option for assuring F1 place for 2021 season beyond. MCLAREN F1 Team still consider the increase of Mercedes-Benz factory works backing for 2021 if in case Mercedes F1 full factory team will quitting F1 after 2020 season.

I think they will stay. The marketing is generates alone is utterly ridiculous. It means they don't have to spend as much of their actual advertising budget to help sell cars, and seeing as their investment is something like 70mil a year, it kind of makes sense to keep doing it.

They're making money being in F1 hand over fist, why would they give that up?

Mercedes will definitely continue in F1. A lot of 2019 resources were already poured into the 2021 season so I can't see they leaving F1 in 2020.

From the marketing perspective, €70mil on a global marketing platform is nothing, not to mention one that is singular in its message and one that has been ultra successful for close to a decade. I'd say €150mil is not a lot for Daimler to spend on marketing. Many Fortune 500 corporations spend hundreds of millions of dollars annually on marketing for dubious returns/benefits.

No other global venue can reach the number of audience and convey the values of Daimler and Mercedes like F1 can. Mercedes stands alone in this regard compared to its German compatriots.

It would be one of the most stupid things ever. They are making a direct profit AND get huge marketing value AND have been dominant for the past 7 years.

Why on earth would they leave?

Because the budget cap will make it far harder for them, or any of the top teams to all but guarantee they are at the sharp end of grid.

They will make even more money directly and the marketing value will remain huge. Sure, the domination gets harder but through the PU they have a built in advantage (or at least at the very top) which will remain unchanged to 2026 or later.

They're gonna stay. They stand to make too much money to leave. Selling now they make a nickle on the $. Also they're significantly reducing thier costs.

There is this wish or hope that McLaren will be the Mercedes works team.
For a F1 team, especially Mercedes, the only part of the team that costs money with limited marketing return is the engine factory. The racing team is profitable, the marketing return is enormous, etc etc. Just laying off 600 people, buying our Toto Wolff and loosing Hamilton as a long term public figure wouldn’t make sense.

Plus, McLaren is a competitor in the automotive market, so don’t expect any real threat from them on track.

The new rules are absolutely aimed at inducing variation, it might make more sense in terms of odds to be a supplier.

Heck if they commit to supply only i'm sure Marko/Horner will be interested.
With Aston, Mclaren, "Wolff F1" and possibly Red Bull they would have a killer line up of teams, odds are one would be in the fight.

The biggest outcome of the budget cap will be that F1 profits will go up across the board because of reduced costs. The whole “let’s get the field closer” is a bit of a wax nose. Even in spec series, where the material is more or less equal, the big teams float on top.

This budget cap will reduce costs for about half a billion while income stays more or less stable.

probably 7 of the teams will still not hit the cap rather than look where to spend the extra.
If more than 3 teams have to cut back after deducting 'earmarked allowances' I will be surprised.
When arguing with a fool, be sure the other person is not doing the same thing.

They will stay with an auto financed team

The ONLY thing that could change that if the "Racing point situation"
If this is proven that they broke the rules, provide cars and more to RP, it could impact badly the team hence creating a withdrawal
