I must 1stly ask that members kindly refrain from a contentious continuation here, of the the
(previously Admin locked) discussion of moral/political dramas per Mercedes-AMG livery, OK?
Back in the day, the FIA homologated 'National Colors' for international competitions, such as
the renowned 'British Racing Green' & 'Rossa Italia', but on the current F1 grid, does any team
still append these, apart from Ferrari (albeit via a 'Mission Willow'/Marlboro corporate red deal),
& until very recently, the Mercedes-AMG/Petronas outfit in 'German Silver' - traditional livery.
Funnily enough, the new livery selected by Mercedes-AMG/Petronas appears to impinge on the
FIA scheme reserved for New Zealand, that being NZ's 'National Colours' of black/silver, (as so
famously applied to the 1966 Le Mans winning Ford GT 7 litre driven so effectively by NZers).
Does anyone know if this still amounts to anything, or if Team M-AMG/P are in fact impinging
on NZ prerogatives, & should've sought permission/approval, & so duly offered some form of
compensatory deal, such as sponsorship/contingency/drive, to a NZ driver/team or whatnot?
