Nurburgring, Autodromo do Algarve, and Imola in 2020

RaceFans understands the former home of the German Grand Prix will be among the next batch of races to be added to this year’s revised schedule. A spokesperson for the circuit confirmed discussions with Formula 1 have taken place.
The other two races to join the schedule will include the revived Portuguese Grand Prix, last held at Estoril in 1996. Its race will take place at the Autodromo do Algarve near Portimao. F1 has never previously raced at the circuit, but a group of teams tested there shortly after it opened in 2008.

F1 will also add a further round of the world championship in Italy. This will take place at Imola, which previously held F1 races between 1980 and 2006. It will be the third race in Italy this year, along with the Italian Grand Prix at Monza and the Tuscan Grand Prix Ferrari 1000 at Mugello.

Wheater-wise Nürburgring in October sounds daring. Too bad it returns this season, I live not too far from it.

It's funny this story about the Nürburgring should come out today. Just this afternoon I was wondering why no-one had mentioned it at all!
No matter the weather, it will be fantastic to see these cars around that track!
No, Kimi, no. You will not have the drink.

First snow race in F1 history? Or just wet tyres for the dry running like they use in exhibitions!?

Only Kymi Ring in winter will do for a snow race I'm afraid. And also a home event for Kimi as a farewell present.

Pace would be slow, but it would look nice at least:

Whoever said it was Nürburgring instead of Hockenheim? We could have a German GP in Hockenheim and a European GP at the Nürburgring, like they used to do back in the day

Different tracks are a lot of fun. I enjoyed seeing the snow at Barcelona testing a few years ago. I don't remember if there were cars on track with snow on the ground, but assuming it's still safe to run my fingers are crossed

Nürburgring 9-11 October
Portugal 23-25 October
Imola 30-1 October/November

I guess after these three there might be 2 races at Bahrain and the final in Abu Dhabi.
16GPs overall.

Nurburgring in October is a big risk weather wise. Imola would be better in October with Portimão in November. Portimão would be worth a punt even in December. Maybe there are calendar clashes.

Is that because there will be minimal (or no) support races?

I'd personally not mind F1 going to 2 day events anyway. Saturday practise, Sunday qualifying and race.

No races in USA, Brazil or Mexico. This year. Probably not a surprise! Just been confirmed.

I think it’s likely F1 will be there on its own. F3 and F2 will have 8/10 events with the already announced weekends. Also the paddock area at Imola is quite small. I suppose they can get plenty of running in on Sat of only F1 is there.

After all this time I would like a proper 3 day event at Imola though...

Edit...

Motorsport.com article mentions Sepang and Hanoi. I suppose they could work as a double header, particularly if they are 2 day events.
