Merc supposedly bringing a pretty decent upgrade package to Silverstone, per AMuS. Look forward to seeing how much is visible.

Merc is looking to further improve their slow corner performance, per Toto Wolff.

If they do and it works, they're going to really annoy a lot of people.

More akin to Red Bull's style. If it's for testing then OK, if it's for Silverstone --- you gotta be f... kidding me?

Looks the same as the Red Bull Ring wing.... Not surprising, considering how much fate the Merc drivers have in their car's rear end, plus Silverstone is a very drag-sensitive track since 2017.

Toto suggests in the above article on AMuS that last year Ferrari PU was over 50kW (68HP) more powerful than their unit at some races ...

On this matter, someone said on another forum that there are at least 4 motives why 2020 PU apparently is so powerful :

1. The first and most important one: with this year PU they could operate some 28 degrees Celsius higher for both new upper sidepode cooling chassis arrangement and an improved coolant. Thus it could be run harder in higher modes both in the race but especially in that Q3 party mode. That`s why all their customer teams are better in qualy this year.

2. The second reason: Petronas has brought (besides a better coolant) a new fuel formula which was initially designed for the last year PU but forced to be put on halt due to their cooling issues. So, practically they have had 1 year to reformulate and further improve this formula adding HP gains for both fuel upgrades.

3. The third reason: they were forced to turn down the power a little due to their cooling issues with W10. This year they have not been hampered anymore with this problem ...

4. The last reason: with regards to the above motives and the fact that Ferrari PU is down on power (compared to 2019 unit) they are now ahead on power, although their net gains in HP for 2020 are not so big as some untrained eye could speculate ...

Well, this pretty competent guy made (from telemetry) an estimate of 35-45hp more than last year in Hungary. Trained or untrained eye, it's not that little a gain

Will need to see a few more photos of the Silverstone spec, to make sure a few other differences I've noticed (in addition to appearing thinner) that distinguish it from the Austria spec. For example, on the Austria spec, the central section of the mainplane is slightly higher (kind of like a curled up lip), relative to the sections near the end plates.

Whereas on the Silverstone spec, it appears flat all the way across.

With how much more power-sensitive Silverstone has become, I wouldn't be surprised if it is less wing compared to Austria. But, with just one photo, it's really hard to tell.

Could be the same.

Ted confirmed no new upgrade this weekend aside from weight reduction.

Rear wing is the same as Austria.

Thanks for the confirmation.
The front of the car was covered with Flow-Vis at the start of FP1 on Bottas' W11.
