what would running 17.5k rpm versus 18.4k rpm at the same part of the track even have to relate to the tyres.

would not that be a function of transmission. 900 rpm alone would not be needed to compensate for that vector.

i am new, enjoyed your little conversation and thought, well, that when you guys are not typing on this site, what other sites are you at?

Bit of a pointless post, but here i go.

one of u said
'Ralf was at MS tail for the rest of the race and Barrichello was far down the field'

about interlargos 2002 when ms had then new ferrari and rb had the old. I just wanna correct it, RB wasnt down the field due to lack of comparative speed from the old ferrari. He was down the field coz he had a massive hydraulics failure causing him to retire while leading the race (with a good 7 or 8 second lead)!!

and is it not possibly that once ms was oout the front and clear of the pitstop roubds, he decided not to push excessivly, as the 2002 ferrari, had at that point, not completed a full race distance

Ok, there are some that believs this tyre thing, more keep this tyre threat as a possibility. It was obviously no cheat. But since the Ferraris had such a big irregular speed difference, switching from day to day from race to race, relatively to the others.. the whole car cannot explain the unconstant pace. But Ferrari won 2002, congrats for that!!!

This is my opinion and now I leave season 2002 as however it was, and look forward for season 2003.

And for you mach3:... 900 rpm alone IS allot, believ me. It's at that high extra rpm, when cylinder angels are same, when an accelerating powercurve rise to the hights. BMW is not a bad engine. The mechanical grip obviously means allot for the engine power needed. I would have loved to see F2002 tuned for the same michelins as McLaren and Williams, and to see the truth of the pace of them, but that is not possible.

Ferrari is not cheating. It is only because of the type of air that they use. FIA allows the use of nitrogen,Co2 etc. Ferrari may had just found a good formula mixing the allowed chemicals. They can also play with the pressure inside the tyre.

My first impression, majic, was that you were saying that the thread was written by a six years old guy (not Tomba!).

After a couple of seconds I finally understood that it's the age of the thread.

I thought that Ferrari's secret were hard work.

Fool of me, now I know that it's a secret "air". I don't know why they work so hard, they just pump nitrogen and voilá. Just like in "The Fast and the Furious".

I'm still wondering how they got the idea of playing with the pressure. Top secret stuff, I imagine.
