It would have been reallyt hard for Perez to test negative after such a short period. Tracing Point better make sure the car starts on Sunday.
I wonder what they going to do about this rule , There has been reports of people testing positive for weeks even after fully recovered.
That's the reason why they dropped the rule for returning to work with a negative test result (at least in my country)
There's nothing to do about the rule, he doesn't race until he is clear. He took a stupid risk, knew the consequences and now has to pay them.

I feel more sorry for the team than him to be honest. Things are not going their way at the moment.
He also now falls foul of the UK quarantine rule. He needs to quarantine for 10 days so no leaving the UK until next Sunday at the earliest unless I have completely miss read the situation.

We will wait and see. My wife's aunt tested incoclusive/positive for 50 whole days.

Anyone know why it didn’t start last Sunday? I think I heard it was something about an electronics issue, but nothing more definitive than that.
There was mention of a sheared bolt somewhere in the drivetrain.
Thank you, sir.

Cheers!

What an utter waste of time. Pirelli want their heads read not changing the tyres. The teams have just used FP1 to get rid of the Softs.

As an example 6 drivers have ran 7 sets each at an average of ~3.2 laps per set and as the Sky commentary said teams may decide to run Mediums in Qualy as the Softs can’t even do a lap when pushed.

In fact 4 sets is the least ran for ~5.2 laps per set.

The picture I just saw showed Bottas on yellow tires???

Well, Pirelli could not change the tires that quick and no one could expect the big difference...still the hard tires last weekend performed for nearly a full race distance until it exploded, so I would call it too hard. I am not sure if the selection is entirely wrong, it is just a useless soft. Thus we are back in the old days with two tire grades and two pit stops...sounds not too bad to me.

Interesting fact is, that Merc unloaded some of the usual FP sandbags. Looks like they wanted to use the tires a bit after the failures last week.

Top teams will run the Hard C2 in Q2 subtoppers can opt C3. C4 will only be used in ultimate pace runs, you can’t use them in the race. After 13 laps you are out of rubber.

It is more engine saving then sandbagging. Now they wanted to get some tire data indeed. Normally not needed so much.

The big difference was obviously going to happen bearing in mind that the soft last week looked too soft (we’ve gone a step softer this week too). Teams are now going to have to seriously conserve tyres now. We’re not going to get much running from now till qualifying IMHO.

Exactly the Soft is now in essence a Qualy tyre.

The problem is that there are so few sets of the others (3M, 2H) what are teams going to now run in FP2 and FP3? IMHO we’re about so see an awful lot of empty asphalt. I’ve been wrong before and I’ll be VERY happy to admit it if I am

They basically have all the data they need from practice and race last weekend on the hard and med, doubt we will see much running as well. What a lark.
