Yet Toto gave the full details of last years car to the daughter team he is personally involved in. Oh no, they made it themselves, from pictures. So who is the big fat liar here. To to. Copied the first two letters.
He was talking about the brake ducts wasn’t he? IIRC he said Mercedes loaned them some for wing tunnel purposes because RP’s were not ready.
That is very nice of him.
Oh indeed.

Everyone except me probably saw Vettel's failure live. But, posting here anyway, courtesy of reddit user /u/peke_f1:

Inpector Sebastian looking at the mess of leaking oil under his car.

Could be failed oil pump or hose or cooler. Engine seemed to shut it self down safely. No oil smoke. Looks like cool oil.
That Russian HD stream obviously has a different audio feed to the rest of the world

Indeed. Sounded like something rather big and heavy smacking into something else big and heavy followed by a nice vibration and oil pouring out of the bottom.

Plus side to all this now we get to see Hullkenberg and he's had some time in the car to be able to make a stronger set up and better Qualifying attempt it looks like Hulks fans get their man. Now I hope he does a great job because Racing Point needs the points hahaha... Bag 15 points NICO! lol...

What an utter waste of time. Pirelli want their heads read not changing the tyres. The teams have just used FP1 to get rid of the Softs.

As an example 6 drivers have ran 7 sets each at an average of ~3.2 laps per set and as the Sky commentary said teams may decide to run Mediums in Qualy as the Softs can’t even do a lap when pushed.

In fact 4 sets is the least ran for ~5.2 laps per set.
These are stints not new sets of tyres. If someone comes out 7 times using the same tyre, it'll be listed as showing 7 tyres.

Maybe so but the RedBull and Mercedes drivers seem to be agreeing with me.

Each car used 2 sets of tires for each free practice. Pushing at qually levels the softs are overheating before the end of 1 lap. In race conditions hey might last 5 laps or so before becoming useless grip wise. The race will be almost exclusively mediums and hards. Probably q2 and race start in medium for the top 10 or so and then 2 stints on the hards(except for Renault who used 1 set of their hards today)

Reanult seem surprisingly happy to burn through a set of Hards.

Are they picturing Medium - Medium - Hard, perhaps?

It seems bold.

I would qualify on hard, and then do hard medium hard, or perhaps hard hard medium. Soft is gone in two minutes.

That still sounds a very mechanical noise followed by vibrations and oil out the bottom. I still say Piston, Con Rod, Big End Cap, etc.

Grosjean did more than 2/3 of the race on mediums (now hards) last week, so it's not completely unimaginable. Sounds like a risky approach though, with the higher temperatures now.

It also leaves very little room for error in Qualy. Are some drivers going to even bother running tomorrow’s FP3 apart from an install lap?
