Possible strategies according to Pirelli

What happens about Max though? He is starting on hard tires. So he will do the first one but in reverse?
Max tyres will have (is it?) 6 laps on them, so the swap would be sooner. Pos safety car would allow the meds mid race for a short stint.
When arguing with a fool, be sure the other person is not doing the same thing.

What happened to McLaren? They seemed to have a lot more pace last weekend.

I think this is what happens with back to back weekends. The same happened to a Ferrari. Some seemed to have aced their setup last week whilst others improved over 2 weeks.

Seriously? In Riccardo category? Give me one example where Perez pulled a decent pass in a combat. All. I remember is his clumsy driving.
He pulled a decent passES the other day...
"did you like that one guys?" while he sliced through nearly the entire field in Austria before slitghtly touching with Norris. Just bad luck.

He has always been a decent overtaker in my view.

With that said obviously he is not among the best overtakers. But his pace is strong and he has racecraft in t mhe top tier.

Agree 100% Perez is always getting a bad rap for no reason, always has great race pace, gentle on tires and gave button the biggest migraine ever in 2013....

Perez is a good driver. He and Hulk are closely matched. I would not dare to put him at Danny Ric's level, not even close! The best duo RP can get for next season would be Vettel and Hulk.

I think it had more to do with the different track conditions, the higher temperature forced Mclaren to use different (larger) outlets on Sainz car to manage overheating, with the drag penalty that it brings therefore losing on the straights... The changes on tire pressures could also have had a larger effect on Mclaren (with how hard it is to have the tires in the right operating window).

And you could just as easily find a bunch of clips that show how good Perez is, this doesn’t prove anything.

Anyway, everybody rates Hulk, his problem was always a lack of sponsors, whereas Perez has Telmex behind him. That’s a lot of money RP would miss out on if they decided to dump him.

Please go ahead and post if you have. It does prove he is clumsy and has costed the team a hell of lot of points and dollars. Definitely not in a top draw category like Riccardo, to whom @Platinumzealot was comparing Perez to.

How about you guys take the Perez pissing match to another thread? Last i checked, Perez wasnt racing here this weekend.
Not for nothing, Rosberg's Championship is the only thing that lends credibility to Hamilton's recent success. Otherwise, he'd just be the guy who's had the best car. — bhall II

Daniel can see how hard it is to score a midfield podium. He looks pretty Perez / Hulk Level in the midfield. Apples to apples.

He only gave Button a migraine because he kept crashing into him, otherwise, Button massively outscored Perez over the 2013 season and was promptly dropped for the following season. The guy is a Pastor Maldonado level a-hole, and his disregard for the COVID-19 procedures has lost him his race seat for 2 races now.

Hulkenberg put in a solid performance today, and possibly the first representative performance for the RP car. It will be interesting to actually see him race tomorrow, as Stroll really seemed to struggle in last week's race.

Rubbing tires often i wouldn’t consider crashing into and Perez destroyed button in the 2nd half of 2013 as he had way better race pace. And I don’t think mclaren dropping him was a bad thing considering mclaren clearly wasn’t making good decisions at that point in time...

I think Leclerc, Bottas, max and Ric broke procedures. Just one of those things for Perez. I didnt know he was this despised by fans though. I see him as a clean driver. Ocon was too aggressive. And with Button, Perez was just a green inexperienced driver at the time.
