Well, the Softs did help him make the move on Albon, which otherwise wouldn’t have happened... The tire delta was good for the start of the stint and probably what secured P6bauc wrote:Solid race, both drivers did OK, I just did not understand the reason to send SAI on the soft tire in the back of that train of cars after his first Pit Stop.
Man you have to stop with the RP/Mercedes bashing. I understand the frustration but I don't think the stewards have subscribed to F1technical.Darth-Piekus wrote: ↑16 Aug 2020, 21:42A good result I must say but I think we could have done better. It's a pity though that the FIA is letting an illegal team still race with illegal parts without getting disqualified when Renault has been disqualified in a similar situation. The fact that they are letting Mercedes first of all having an legal today and illegal tomorrow system like the DAS and who knows what else inside that car that might as well be illegal but called legal loopholes to cover it up and the fact that they let a team copy a championship winning car just so they can have some attention and finally saying that they are legal and illegal at the same time says a lot about the current state of F1. The problem is being a few tenths behind RP is an eternity and I don't see if we can cover that up. Next year they are gonna copy this year's Mercedes and I don't know if we can ever surpass them.
Things are so tight in that part of the field I feel that the few hundredths from the new engine helped in qualli and where it mattered at the start. I don't mean thats why Carlos had a better race than Lando, but as I say, in that part of the field every little perk helps and multiplies. Ofcourse, he had to be good enough to take advantage of it for it to benefit him.
Take RP off the grid and remove DAS from Mercedes and we still wouldn't get a championship this year I'm afraid, we are where we are because we are too slow, not because of anyone else's approach to the sport. We can look everywhere else and point fingers, but truth be told, we don't have a car that can challenge and that is purely on us.Darth-Piekus wrote: ↑16 Aug 2020, 22:31I apologise but it is so frustrating knowing that something is going on and it's getting covered up. Reminds me of the Ferrari/Schumacher era and the whole controversy behind them. Meanwhile poor Mclaren is getting screwed from 1999. I was in middle school and I am now 36 and still hasn't seen another championship since then if you count out the one from Hamilton.
you ok hun?Darth-Piekus wrote: ↑16 Aug 2020, 21:42A good result I must say but I think we could have done better.
