Stop it! I have 2 car posters in my garage, the Tyrrell p34 and the Chaparral 2j. I still long to find that alternate universe where the F1 and CanAm series from the 70's had a playoff (raceoff) set of races amongst each of their top ten.

That was such a garbage idea! So relieved they dropped it. I don't know why they keep trying to mess with qualifying. It's one of the things that 99% of the time works brilliantly.

That were more short lived innovations cut short by rule changes, like DAS, DD and F-ducts.

I think the topic is more about stuff the FIA thought “hey let’s do this” realising a few races later, “well... it looked good on paper”, like the radio ban.

How about the "X wings" and various other aero bits and pieces that show up for a race or 2 and then are banned for "safety" reasons???
