This forum contains threads to discuss teams themselves. Anything not technical about the cars, including restructuring, performances etc belongs here.
First of all it is a stupid rule not to have an extra car in case of situations like these. Secondly Carlos Sainz is so unlucky this year for how many points he has lost (from all the pitstops and two mechanical failures is it now?). Thirdly we are racing against Renault (who is currently 27 points behind), Ferrari(1 point back) and Racing Point(1 point in front) and situations like these are a setback. Let's see if Norris gathers many points to save the day. Ferrari doesn't seem to be able to go top 10. Renault seem to have the speed to get a lot of points. Racing Point seem fast in the race. Hopefully Norris has the speed needed today to beat them all.
Anyway. Fingers crossed for Norris, good luck and of course bad luck to our opponents.
It’s really a shame for Carlos, that’s a lot of bad luck at Spa for him... It’s a shame that the team couldn’t fix the exhaust quickly enough for Carlos to at least start from the pits.
These are the type of points that we can’t lose if we want to be in the fight... On track is one thing, but we can’t lose before the race even starts.
Well it's a long season that reminds me of last year. We also lost a lot of points from badluck last year otherwise we could have cleared that 4th place faster. Remains to be seen. I am still confident on the team that we will outdevelop both Renault and Racing Point. I don't count Ferrari anymore since they seem to have raised a white flag for this year.
I started smelling something not quite right on my car, and we discovered it was a PU issue that generated an exhaust blow out...
Carlos Sainz, McLaren
Do you know how I feel right now? I am having thoughts at the moment at why is Mclaren is losing from teams that should have eaten them for breakfast. We have taken a dive down and that happened in 3 races in a row so far. Its so dissapointing to see that after such a good start in the season.
It's clear that the performance has dropped however I don't think it's the fault of Norris. It bothers me that we don't have the same speed as Renault on this circuit. What set up have we chosen?
