I dont get it. Where did the car suddenly found the pace from? I really don't get it.

S2 requires downforce, if you are running on turbulent air from the car in front of you, you will lose a lot of pace... Once the car had a gap, it was able to unleash more pace...

Its gonna be hard against renault in monza they are far ahead in fast tracks

That could have been a lot better but could also have been a lot worse. McLaren back to P4 in constructors?

McLaren were running slightly more downforce here, will be interesting to see what happens when they strip that off for Monza. I think it will be close.

Impressed by renault today so fast and fastest lap with same strategy as the leaders

Lando made the best of the situation in the end. Another lap or two and it could’ve been a lot better but hey that’s racing. We’re the new sidepod vanes used this race? If not let’s hope they deliver some lap time for future races alongside other updates as appears other cars are developing a slightly faster pace than us.

In monza renault is ahead no doubt as lasf year we are far behind them

Sainz really collecting the worst luck of them all... Now Renault has joined the battle for third and we have a 4way battle up our hands to look forward to.

Yes sorry P3. At the pre season tests, if you had told me McLaren would be P3 in the constructors almost half way through the season, I would have taken it!!
