Prior to the Quali-mode cut, I assumed Mercedes would go out first in Q3 and do two runs, taking tow turns.

Now, I wonder if they can afford to do that? If not, any idea how we'll avoid the fiasco of the last Monza Q3? Apologies if this has been covered.
I wonder when we will see team mates work together to 'baggs' start slots in the traffic jam for qualli?.

one car get a spot close to the front of the line, the second car come straight through, and followed by the first car.

No queuing for the lead car and tow for the other.
When arguing with a fool, be sure the other person is not doing the same thing.

It'll definitely be interesting in light of last year. the end of Q3 could be chaos again. Maybe no-one will improve on their second run if they can't get optimum outlaps?

It may not matter with the top two or three positions, but it really could from there downward, or if one of LH/VB/MV has a poor first run.

As for Merc and the tow- if it's Bottas turn for first shout on what order on track they are, then he should get the tow and if that gives him pole, then that's only fair!

It's Hamilton that will be behind Bottas this weekend. They have always just alternated who goes first and last weekend Bottas was behind Hamilton. He got a tow for the entire lap.

Bottas has a decent pace advantage in FP1, let's see if he keeps this form going.

No he did not. On their last flying lap, Bottas was giving tow to Hamilton. Yet, Bottas finished first as Hamilton was losing a lot of time in S2. As usual, come qualifying, Hamilton would be flying through S2.

2019 Q3 could happen again. I see in FP1 already had some scenario similar to that, with 5-6 cars in a row each looking for getting a good position. Leclerc even said in TR something about "doing tow quali training".

Not to mention with the mode ban, tow is becoming more important.

It was mentioned that Hamilton did have the tow later in the session but didn't post a good time.

Watching live timing in FP2 at the moment. Mercs are going to destroy the field. Max is >0,5s a lap slower than Mercs, onboth soft and medium.

With the mode switching ban they need to go back to classic sandbags.
