What everyone else did has nothing to do with whether there was a light on at the pit entry or not. If there wasn't, a penalty isn't justified, end of story.

You have a V8 Supercar race director in charge now, so things operate more like V8 Supercars. That means Safety Car everytime marshalls need to go on track.

Old F1 race direction was far too risk-taking at the expense of volunteer marshalls.

Lewis Hamilton has no excuse. There were TWO red X lights on the track at the Parabolica. Both were illuminated. They are clearly visible on the replay as he heads towards the pit entrance.
