This has nothing to do with the third engine.
Honda supplies the 4 Red Bull drivers. So they must also all 4 use the same mode.
Mercedes must have their 2 Mercedes drivers drive with the same mode from the FIA. Renault must have their 2 Renault drivers drive with the same mode, Ferrari must do the same with their 2 drivers. This does not apply to their customer teams yet, that is only with the third engine.

can you link the source for that please? I don't mean to question your statement, but AMuS reported the opposite (and usually they are well informed), that's why I'm wondering

So this applies to all engines, including for the customer teams.

However, the FIA believes that all 4 Red Bull drivers belong to 1 team, the Red Bull team, so they must all use the same mode from this weekend.
Just like the 2 Mercedes drivers, 2 Ferrari drivers and 2 Renault drivers. Red Bull has 4 drivers.

Tanabe says: “Our program was slightly different to the usual one on Friday, as we worked on assessing the best engine management settings to comply with the new FIA technical directive, which requires us to use the same mode for qualifying and the race across all four of our cars."

saying that, running the 2nd engine, every driver can use whatever mode the team wants to. But yeah, maybe they are just wrong. Or Tanabe is lying (as Tost yesterday, who said Honda doesn't have a qualifying mode). I don't know.

So much call to take Gasly back to the boss team, but I dont know.
He is doing so well where he is it would be a shame to break it. Plough some more resource into AT and have 3 cars in the top ten

They kind of need to find out if Gasly is good enough in the top team or not, so they can decide on whether they need Hulkenberg or Vettel at Red Bull or not. Furthermore, they will be able to compare Albon and Tsunoda to see who is better of those two (poor old Kvyat ).

It's a worry that Gasly could be Fisichella Mk2 ("I'm very 'appy!" ) or Frentzen Mk2 and be superb in lower teams but struggle in top teams.

Anyway, Tost is a great team principal and Alpha Tauri is a well-run team. Forza Italia!

So great to see Minardi now with two 1st place trophies in the cabinet. Such a happy team. Who ever thought that would be possible 20 years ago?
